Roman Retirement

Adeline's 6th grade class has been studying all things Roman and Greek..so it was fitting they each made their own Roman Courtyard Houses as part of the studies.  As I walked around the many displays there were courtyards with flower gardens, spaces for family gatherings involving food, dancing spaces, etc.  Adeline couldn't have just any old courtyard though....Here's her version:
Welcome to what awaits you if you are retiring in Ancient Greece...
This courtyard dwelling is a retirement center because heaven knows we all need someplace to go when we are too old to know what is up.  This retirement center comes complete with a Cinnagreek cinnamon roll shop right out back for those times you just have to have a little baked goodness.

As you can see, the roof only covers the outer parts of the building so the sleeping is done mostly around the edges.  What you cannot see (sorry, I am not an amazing photographer) is the small flat beds that I am sure are more comfortable to sleep on than they look.  Each one was made with care and include a pillow.

Adeline told me that if I'm really lucky she'll find me a place like this one when I can't make it to the bathroom by myself anymore...I am one lucky mom!
